The Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi (DCD) issued a guideline that includes all the procedures for the gradual return and reopening of non-Muslim places of worship in Abu Dhabi.
His Excellency Sultan Al Mutawa Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of the Community Engagement and Sports Sector at DCD stated: "The issuance of the guideline comes in conjunction with the government decision to reopen, and it's within DCD's vital role in regulating places of worship in Abu Dhabi; the guideline is to providing instructions to ensure safety to combat the pandemic"
.Al Dhaheri added: "The guideline includes providing a thermal detection device at the main entrance according to each worship capacity; providing hand sanitizers, sterilization and thorough cleaning of worship after each prayer using disinfectant sprays and insist of ventilating of all worships".
H.E Explained: "all activities and social services provided by places of worship will remain suspended except for the praying, and encouraging the use of alternative plans to meet remotely and conduct meetings and educational activities online, and reducing the prayer time to an hour maximum time to increase the social distance".
The guide included an integrated package of instructions for places of worships, as all worshippers must download and activate contact tracing app 'AlHosn', handshakes are not allowed, maintain a distance of 2 meters from others, and it is mandatory to wear gloves and masks at all time and dispose of it in trash bins.
DCD valued the cooperation and the joint coordination of the places of worships in Abu Dhabi during coronavirus pandemic is an evidence of the responsibility spirits towards the country by conducting and following the safety measures for Abu Dhabi society.
