Abu Dhabi

On the occasion of Emirati Women's Day, His Excellency Eng. Hamad Ali Al Dhaheri, Undersecretary of the Department of Community Development, emphasised the boundless support and enthusiasm of the country’s wise leadership to enhance the role of women in all aspects of life, recognising them as fundamental partners in the nation’s prosperity and development. Women now work alongside men in all sectors and have started to occupy the highest leadership and field positions in all vital areas.

His Excellency Eng. Hamad Al Dhaheri highlighted that the distinction of Emirati women stems from the efforts of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the ‘Mother of the Nation’, in championing the work women do. Her influential role in empowering women's leadership and elevating their global standing is a continuation of the solid approach established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founded on his belief that the progress and advancement of nations are achieved through the efforts of both daughters and sons, with women being fundamental partners to men in the process of sustainable development.

His Excellency highlighted the pivotal role women play as wives and mothers, serving as the foundation of the family. They are a fundamental pillar of society, acting as educators and guides for their children. As wives, they help build relationships grounded in respect, affection, and family cohesion. Women also contribute to balancing the demands of daily life with shared responsibilities, working to create a supportive and safe environment not only for their families but also to empower future generations to face challenges confidently and competently.

He added that the UAE’s will continue its efforts to enhance the presence of women in all fields and achieve its vision of being one of the best countries in the world in empowering women and gender equality, especially since the UAE has become a role model in the field of equality thanks to the wise policies of its leadership.
