His Excellency Engineer Hamad Ali Al Dhaheri, Undersecretary at the Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi, said that at the outset the 50th National Day is a special occasion as it represents half a century since the unification of the seven emirates under one flag. At a deeper level, however, the occasion marks a milestone in the country’s journey of development and prosperity where the spirit of cooperation, empathy and understanding reign supreme.
“The founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed, along with his brothers, laid a solid foundation for our country. Their vision has been carried forward by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, who built on this foundation a nation that tells the story of an extraordinary journey towards advancement and collective prosperity,” H. E. Al Dhaheri said.
“Our leadership has proved that 50 years is long enough for a country to overcome any challenges as it drove the UAE forward through fundamental institutions of justice, equality, inclusivity and cooperation. There are few nations in the world as culturally diverse as ours, where people from virtually every country and culture live in harmony and collectively participate in the nation-building effort.”
H. E. Al Dhaheri thanked the country’s pragmatic leadership, who steered the nation to become one of the top destinations in the world to work, do business, live a quality life and achieve dreams and aspirations.
He also commended the UAE’s citizens and residents, who extend their support and cooperation to the ensure and enhance happiness of the population, promote peaceful coexistence, and ensure social security.
