The Department of Community Development Abu Dhabi honoured the main sponsors and strategic partners who contributed to the successful second edition of the Abu Dhabi Moments initiative.
The honorary ceremony was attended by His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development, and officials from government, private and the third sector.
The initiative seeks to enhance cohesion and unity between the different classes and segments of society by building bridges of communication between people.
Speaking on the occasion, HE Mohamed Al Balooshi, Executive Director of the Community Engagement and Sports Sector at the Department of Community Development, said that DCD is committed to adopting community initiatives to enhance the quality of life for community members based on our wise Leadership's vision and directions to pay careful attention to community members and ensure a decent livelihood for all.
DCD thanks main sponsors and strategic partners namely Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Etihad Airways, Ethmar Holdings, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, NMC Healthcare, Al Ain Farms, and Toshiba. DCD also worked with strategic partners including the Department of Municipalities and Transport, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, Al Ain City Municipality, Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, Abu Dhabi Police, We are All Police, National Health Insurance Company - Daman, Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, Family Development Foundation, Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, Hayat Post-Care Association, Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Special Education, Museum of Illusions, Al Ain Center For Care And Rehabilitation, Abu Dhabi Center for Sheltering and Humanitarian Care – Ewaa, Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority, Seven Wellness, Brainy n Bright, The Wonder MoM, NewLook Medical Center, Abbot Clinic and Appolonia Dentistry for Children.
Al Balooshi added that Abu Dhabi Moments initiative is one of the community initiatives that reflect the community cohesion and cultural diversity in Abu Dhabi.
He emphasized that the initiative's success comes from the cooperation and integration of roles between the various public, private, and third-sector, and volunteers. They were the main supporters in advancing sustainable development by adopting programs and initiatives that contribute to establishing a social system that provides community members with an optimal environment to safely spend times of entertainment and recreation.
The initiative included the organization of 6 events across the Emirate, attracting more than 256,000 visitors from more than 50 nationalities, which reflects its importance and success in achieving cohesion, unity, and positive relations among the community members. More than 460 volunteers have also participated in the "Abu Dhabi Moments" initiative through 58,000 volunteer hours to enhance the visitors' experience.
The event also included more than 500 entertainment activities and shows, as well as the delivery of more than 15,500 workshops.
In collaboration with private health partners, the initiative also provided 16,600 primary health and dental checks to the public during its events, in line with its commitment to raising awareness of the necessity for regular health checks.
Abu Dhabi Moments produced numerous recreational, cultural, sports, and other events and activities in six main venues. Venues include Khalifa Square in Khalifa City, Capital Park, Mohamed bin Zayed City Public Park, Mussafah, Al Jahili Park in Al Ain region, and Al Dhannah City in Al Dhafra region. These events celebrated cultural and community diversity and presented many experiences to encourage community members to enjoy these special moments.
